Alliance for Individualised Support

We actively advocate for systemic changes to ensure that people with severe disabilities or illnesses, and their caregivers, have access to support that meets their needs within their natural environment.

We are changing the system

We advocate for systemic change and for the rights and interests of people with disabilities or chronic conditions who require higher levels of support and care. We also work for a fair social, educational, and healthcare system that recognises the unique needs of every individual and provides help based on real needs, regardless of diagnosis or type of disability.

We bring together the strength of more than 50 organisations, the expertise of professionals, and the urgency for meaningful change.

We care deeply about people with severe disabilities or illnesses and their family carers.

We are changing how the public, journalists, officials, and politicians perceive disability and care.

About the Alliance and our priorities

The Alliance for Individualized Support is an umbrella non-profit organization. We affiliate more than 55 parental, patient and umbrella organisations that have decided to join forces in order to achieve the necessary changes in the social system of the Czech Republic in the direction of individualised support and care. It was funded in 2020.

Since 2025 the Alliance has been a member of the European Disability Forum.

We drive systemic change by engaging with policymakers, advocating for disability and carer rights, and promoting participation in policy development. It documents lived experiences, raises public awareness, and fosters connections through events and coalitions.

Our current advocacy priorities are:

  • Introduction of a coordinator of care and support for people with severe disabilities and their family carers
  • Locally, financially and temporally accessible community-based social services
  • Independent living at home and the abolition of large-scale residential services for people with disabilities
  • A care allowance corresponding with the cost of the assistance needed
  • Fair provision for family carers, decent financial and social security.

Our current campaign

In Czechia, many families still face gaps in support and services that do not reflect their real-life needs. The campaign calls on the public to help push for a system that is fair, responsive, and sustainable.

Support our advocacy work to achieve real change in the support system for people with disabilities and their family caregivers at home. This campaign focuses on improving how the system works in practice. We strive for better coordination of care, fair assessment of individual needs and accessible social, healthcare, and educational services

Join us and help make support work for those who depend on it most.
