We are changing the system
We advocate for systemic change and for the rights and interests of people with disabilities or chronic conditions who require higher levels of support and care. We also work for a fair social, educational, and healthcare system that recognises the unique needs of every individual and provides help based on real needs, regardless of diagnosis or type of disability.
About the Alliance and our priorities
The Alliance for Individualized Support is an umbrella non-profit organization. We affiliate more than 55 parental, patient and umbrella organisations that have decided to join forces in order to achieve the necessary changes in the social system of the Czech Republic in the direction of individualised support and care. It was funded in 2020. Since 2025 the Alliance has been a member of the European Disability Forum.
We drive systemic change by engaging with policymakers, advocating for disability and carer rights, and promoting participation in policy development. It documents lived experiences, raises public awareness, and fosters connections through events and coalitions.
Our current advocacy priorities are:
- Introduction of a coordinator of care and support for people with severe disabilities and their family carers
- Locally, financially and temporally accessible community-based social services
- Independent living at home and the abolition of large-scale residential services for people with disabilities
- A care allowance corresponding with the cost of the assistance needed
- Fair provision for family carers, decent financial and social security.
Our current campaign 2025
We help people with disabilities and caregivers live a dignified life
People with serious deseases or disabilities, and those who care for them at home, must not be left without support. In Czechia, there is a lack of accessible services, caregiver support, and fair funding. Join us in changing the care system — a system that affects thousands of lives. Help the Alliance for Individualized Support. Change won’t happen on its own. People with disabilities need allies. Become one of them.
